Photo Journal – Trekking Annapurna: Upper Pisang – Manang

This was by far my most favourite part of the journey. Once we ascended through the gorge leading to Upper Pisang, the landscape opens up into a wide plateau with amazing landscapes and views. We stayed a couple of days in Manang to acclimatise since it’s above the 3500 meter mark. I suffered 2 days of altitude sickness which I will cover in a different post.

I am so glad we went off season. The villages are just tourist centres with guest house after guest house. I can only imaging the mayhem that must be in on-season. While trekking we where often by ourself for hours which was great. Not a thousand other trekkers around.

A tip when deciding on a guest house, check the mattress. I had one that was so worn out that the foam on the borders was about 15cm but in the centre where my bud needs it most it was about 2cm!!!!!.. I did not sleep very well that night.
