Transit Lounge

Transit Lounge

There is something soothing about transit lounges. I always liked them. Watching people from all walks of life spending some time, then moving on, new people coming in. Random conversations with strangers, then silence. Observing.

It’s like sitting in the middle of a spiders web stretching out all over the world. A sense of being everywhere and no where at the same time. Connected. Full of options and possibilities.

I have been sitting here in the Kuala Lumpur international transit lounge for the past 5 hours waiting for my connecting flight to Kathmandu. The past week has been very trying. Packing up my life in Sydney. Giving up my apartment and most of all the heart wrenching good bye with my partner who decided to stay behind.

I am too exhausted to be excited right now. But I am ready. I have been waiting for this day for 3 years and it has finally arrived. A period to be free, to explore to be creative in how I want to structure my life. Thinking outside the norm. Outside the implied rules of our western culture. The matrix we are all so firmly plugged into without even realising. It’s time to step aside. Gain new perspectives and have some adventures 🙂
