Photo Journal – Trekking Annapurna: BesiSahar to Upper Pisang

The trip from BesiSahar to Upper Pisang took us through narrow gullies along a river. The roads where treacherous and it was very cloudy making for a very eery moody atmosphere best captured in black and white. We averaged about 4 to 5 hours of trekking a day. So not too hard going. The way isn’t too steep and often you have a choice to take the trekking path or the 4wd road. We found taking the road was actually better. Much has been written about how the road spoils the trek. Perhaps it was due to off-season but there was hardly any traffic. The advantage of going along the road is the view is better since you are looking onto the other side where the trek is.. not being on the trek looking at an ugly road. So In a way the road does spoil the trek, unless you are ON the road 😉
